What is the Best Paintball Gun for you

I don't know what's the best paintball gun for you. I can only help you make a more informed choice, by making some recommendations. I've been researching this topic for more than a month now and the best I can do is give you the info you need.

If you are new to paintball, then you probably are feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information available. I felt exactly the same way when I was first introduced to paintball. I sometimes still get a little bit anxious about all this stuff :-)

Lets take a look at the Proto SLG paintball gun as a start. If you are watching the budget and want a paintball gun that:

  • compares well in price with other markers ( a.k.a paintball gun),
  • makes it easier for you to aim and hit your target,
  • has great air efficiency that will get you more shots out of your air tank,
  • is good looking
then I will strongly consider this as an option.

I personally like the Tippmann 98 Custom for its durability, low maintenance and competitive price. The 98 Custom is hugely popular and easy to use.

Ultimately the choice is up to you when deciding what's the best paintball gun for you. Make sure that you have enough info and that you have tested a couple markers.

Finding the Best Paintball Gun - You are What You Shoot

I'm constantly researching how to find the best paintball gun for the different types of player styles, positions and paintball games. My research also aims to give you the best information possible to help you make an informed decision.

So how do you find the perfect paintball gun for you? I came across an article that states that: "... the type of paintball gun you use reveals a lot about
the type of player you are."
What does the author mean by this?

Well consider the following examples:

  • If you are a woodsball player that uses a Special Ops Longbow, you are most likely a patient player who enjoys hunting down your opponents and have a one-shot-one-kill style.
  • If you are using a Tippmann A-5 you will most likely be a more aggressive, fearless player who likes to be where the action is.

Ok, I hear you asking how are you suppose to know what type of player you are? Explore the game of paintball and try out different positions. Identify what positions you feel comfortable playing before you decide to master a specific position. The more game experience you have the better you will know what type of gun suits your needs. Once you have more experience you will have a better feel for your style and the specific features you require in your gun.

So before you go and invest in a paintball gun:
  • Play more paintball games to get more experience
  • Get to know your style and position that you like playing
  • Know what features in gun you will need
  • Try out different paintball guns to get a feel for it

Remember, the type of gun you are using reflects your personal style and therefore your style will influence your decision on the best paintball gun for you.
